Abstract With the growing complexity in Software development and delivery, Organisations are changing their focus to specialisation in a particular area and improving that as a Centre of Excellence, rather than generalising Software delivery as a whole. Testing is one such area that has gained specific focus, and this has resulted in Test only projects, Test only Business Units and even Test only Organisations. However, there are opportunities for streamlining the Software Engineering principles in this area, especially with respect to the high maturity practices of CMMI. Estimation is one such area in Test Management which calls for innovative frameworks and methods. This paper proposes a method of estimation for Testing projects using CMMI high maturity practices, based on Regression Analysis and Monte Carlo simulation. The proposed estimation model can also be used by the Testing Project for continuous Quantitative Project Management. The pre-requisites and the factors to be considered for a Project to use and maintain this model are also explained in this paper.
